What do I need to be able to use TAB ACTIVE?

You will need:

  • To be over 18 years old
  • Have a TAB Account in the state in which you are viewing the TAB ACTIVE service from
  • A compatible set top box
  • A phone line connected to your FOXTEL box or a Digipath

For NSW & VIC customers you need your 4-digit PIN (same PIN you use to access your TAB Account via the telephone). If you don’t have a PIN, download the TAB Account Activation Form.
For QLD, SA or WA customer you need your Password.

 



How do I place a bet on TAB ACTIVE?

First of all you need to Login to your TAB account. You do this by pressing the Yellow button on your FOXTEL remote and enter your account details. Select the race for which you wish to bet on. Press the Green button to access the Choose Your Bet menu, this screen has a complete list of all available bet types for the selected race. Choose your bet type by scrolling up/down and pressing SELECT. Runners and betting options can be chosen by pressing SELECT, to tick and un-tick selections. For example, to place a Win and/or Place bet, scroll to Win/Place and press SELECT. The next screen will list all the runners in the race. Scroll up/down to your runner and press SELECT.

A tick will appear in the box next to the runner/s. You can either scroll down or press the right arrow button to go straight to the Win box and enter the amount you wish to bet using the number keys on your remote. Press the GREEN button to submit the bet. When the bet has been lodged, a Bet Confirmation screen will appear and you will need to press SELECT to finalise your bet. Be sure to check all your information is correct before confirming your bet as bets cannot be cancelled.



If I don't have a compatible set top box or a phone line connected, what can I do?

You can call FOXTEL on 131 999 for a Free Digipath or to upgrade to a compatible set top box.

Alternatively, you can simply plug a normal phone line cord from the back of your set top box into your normal phone outlet in the wall.



How do I navigate with my remote control in TAB ACTIVE?

Most of the time, you will navigate around TAB ACTIVE using the left / right / up / down arrow keys, the SELECT button, and the four coloured keys. Simple instructions appear on each screen to help you.

When you launch TAB ACTIVE, the first screen you will see is Today’s Gallops. To change between Gallops, Harness or Greyhounds, use the left and right arrow keys. Up/down arrow keys to select runners and choose your bet type.

When you have selected your racing code, use the up and down arrow keys to select the race venue, and then you can select your race. You will be able to view the current Win/Place odds, betting pools and betting status of each race.

To view further information on a runner, use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your runner and press SELECT.



Can I deposit funds into my TAB Account via TAB ACTIVE?

Yes, you can deposit funds into your TAB Account using your Visa or MasterCard (your credit card must be registered to your TAB Account before using this function). It is encrypted, safe and secure and there are no additional charges associated with depositing funds using your credit card. To deposit funds you press the Yellow button on the remote to access the account management menu. Scroll down and select the deposit funds option and continue by entering your information.



If I forget to log off TAB ACTIVE, what happens?

Your session/phone connection will be timed out after 45 minutes of no activity, so as long as you are placing bets or accessing your TAB Account you will stay logged in. You can log back in straight away if you get logged out at any time. To log out at any time, press the FOXTEL button.



Can more than one TAB Account holder be logged in at a time?

No, only one TAB Account can be logged in at any time. You can Switch Users without breaking the connection to TAB ACTIVE. Press the YELLOW Account button and select Switch User. The current user will be logged out and the additional user must login with their TAB Account details. There is no limit to how many times you can switch users.



What are the costs associated?

No additional costs are incurred from FOXTEL or any TAB to use this service. However, each time you login to TAB ACTIVE, you will be charged a local call to your telephone bill.



Where can I access TAB ACTIVE?

At present you need to be a FOXTEL subscriber located in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia or Western Australia to have access to TAB ACTIVE.

TAB ACTIVE is also exclusive to Sky Racing (Channels 519, 520 and 521) only and is not available via TVN.



What is a DIGIPATH (TM) unit?

A DIGIPATH™ unit lets you connect your FOXTEL set top unit and telephone line wirelessly. This is especially useful when the FOXTEL set top unit is in a different room to your telephone. A DIGIPATH unit works throughout your house, even through floors and walls, and it means you can access all the FOXTEL features that normally require a working return path. The DIGIPATH unit works up to a distance of 20 metres in most homes.



Where do I get a Digipath?
You can call FOXTEL on 131 999 for a Free Digipath to use TAB ACTIVE.


Does it cost to Press the RED Button on FOXTEL?
No, there is no cost. All FOXTEL red button services are free of charge.


Can I cancel my bet via TAB ACTIVE?
No, you cannot cancel your bet via this service once it has been submitted and processed. Please make sure you check your bet carefully before submitting.


How do I open an Account to use this service?
You will need to call the appropriate TAB in your state.


Can I do presale on TAB ACTIVE?
No, at this stage you will only be able to bet on the current days racing.


Can I do Fixed Odds betting on TAB ACTIVE?
Only if you are in NSW or VIC. TAB ACTIVE does not provide Fixed Odds in QLD, SA or WA at this stage.


Will I stayed logged in if I switch between Sky Racing1, Sky Racing2 & Sky Racing World channels?
Yes, you can switch between all channels as many times you like and stay logged in to TAB ACTIVE and place bets. However, in order to do this you must be subscribed to Sky Racing2 & Sky Racing World.


Can I log into my account in another state?
No, in order to use the TAB ACTIVE application in a particular state you must have a wagering account in that state.
